1. The 2008 Snowbird entry fee is $350 per bird or $1,250 per 5 bird package ($250 per bird) with one bird from each package going into a rotation draw of all eligible handlers.  Payment in full is due at the time entries are shipped to the FVC club. There is no charge for replacement birds, however, they must be shipped before the June 28 th. 2008 cut off date.

2. All birds must be shipped directly to the Snowbird committee at the FVC clubhouse between April 1st. 2008 and June 28 th. 2008, including replacements.

3. No entry or replacement bird will be accepted after it has dropped its first flight. No Exceptions.

4. The 2008 Snowbird series will consist of three races.  A THREE RACE AVERAGE SPEED will also be available to breeders.  Average Speed birds may be nominated any time prior to the Snowbird 300 Stockton race for an additional $100.00.  This fee is not included in the entry fee for the Snowbird Race and will be refunded if the bird does not go to the first race.

5. A FVC FUTURITY RACE will be held in conjunction with the Snowbird 350 Woodland race on 11-01-08.  (OPITIONAL FOR SNOWBIRD BREEDER) THE SNOWBIRD entry may be nominated for an additional $50.00 at the time of Snowbird check in.  No bird having dropped its first flight may be entered.  The check in dates for FVC Futurity birds are the same as those for Snowbirds APRIL 1ST TO JUNE 28TH 2008. Snowbird race rules will apply for this race.  Any flyer in the Snowbird boundaries, whether he enters or flies Snowbirds, is eligible to enter birds in the FVC Futurity. IF THE SNOWBIRD BREEDER DECLINES TO ENTER HIS BIRD IN THE AVERAGE SPEED OR THE FVC FUTURITY, THE HANDLERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO SO WITH NO SPLIT TO THE BREEDER. Fly against TOP breeders that are known around the world. The Snowbird breeder could win big here. Winning two titles and two big money races at the same time. Race 1

Snowbird 300 - Stockton

All Snowbird handlers are required to ship this race.  All birds must be scanned, however, sick, injured or birds to weak to make the race may then be held out for the next race. This race will be flown on 10/18/08 from Stockton, California, (300 miles) with a Federation release.  Capital prize split will be 70% to the breeder and 30% to the handler.  There will be class entries for this race.  20% of the capital money will be paid for this race.  Results will be posted on the internet.
 

Race 2

Snowbird 350 - Woodland

The Snowbird 350 will be flown on 11/01/08 from Woodland, California , (350 miles) with a Federation release. Capital prize split will be 70% to breeder and 30% to handler. There will be class entries for this race. 30% of the capital money will be paid for this race. Results will be posted on the internet.

Race 3

Snowbird Classic 350 - Woodland

The Snowbird Classic will be flown on 11/22/08 from Woodland, California, (350 miles). This will be a separate release.  Capital prize split will be 70% to breeder and 30% to handler. There will be class entries for this race.  50% of the capital money will be paid for this race. Results will be posted on the internet.  Colfax, California (360 miles) will be an alternate release point.

5. Handlers may handle a maximum of 100 Snowbird Classic entries. There is a limit of 8 birds that a breeder may place in any one loft.

6. Handlers must be members in good standing with all local pigeon organizations.

7. All participants (both breeders and handlers), must be 18 years or older to participate, and must be a member in good standing with the A.U., I.F., C.U., or other national pigeon organization.

8. Handlers may NOT handle any of  their own Snowbirds.

9. Breeders must register all Snow Birds and FVC Futurity birds and replacements through the Snow Bird Committee at the FVC Clubhouse.

10. All birds must be shipped to the FVC Clubhouse at 9008 Laurel Canyon Blvd. , Sun Valley , Ca. 91352. Payment must be made in full with shipping. Birds will be accepted between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm daily. (Closed Sunday and Monday). You can reach FVC by telephone at (818) 768-1675.

11. All birds will be vaccinated for PMV upon arrival. No exceptions.

12. The FVC will take 15% of all moneys for expenses.

13. ATIS timers must be used as a primary clock unless the race committee has access to the software and hardware needed for any other clocking system that can be downloaded and merged into Winspeed . All clocks will be set at the FVC clubhouse the night of shipping and taken off at the at the same location on race day.

14. The internet address for all news and updates will be FVCSnowbirds.com.

15. All Snowbird handlers must live within the Snowbird boundaries.

16. All decisions made by the Snowbird Race Committee will be final. AU and FVC race rules apply.

17. Race Committee reserves the right to use AU approved drug testing.

18. AU rules apply to dead time. Winspeed will be used for all race calculations and will be final.

19. Birds remain the property of the handler unless prior arrangements are made with the handler by the breeder.

20. A copy of Bowen's airline survey of race stations 3580 (Stockton), 2049 (Woodland) and 942 (Colfax) must be furnished to the FVC before shipping birds to a race.

21. Electronic chips will be supplied to all handlers by the Snowbird committee and chipping must be done by a Snowbird committee member at the FVC clubhouse.

22. The Snowbird classic is a three day race.  If all prizes are not filled by the end of the third day, the remaining money will be split equally among the birds clocked.

23. In the event that the races are not able to be flown due to a quarantine ordered by any regulating entity, all class entry money will be returned and all entry fee money, less 10% will be returned.

24. A list of Snowbird entries will be posted on the Snowbird web page and updated as often as possible.

25. In the event of any incapacitation of a Snowbird handler before the first race, all moneys less 15% will be returned to the breeder.

26. Handlers are required to get five birds on their own before being put on the rotation list.  They may be put on the rotation list immediately by placing a check for $1,250 with the Snowbird Committee.  This check will be returned un-cashed, when five birds, other than rotation birds,  have been obtained by them.  The rotation list is made up of all handlers that choose to accept rotation birds. 

27.  All winners will be recognized nationally.
